A tribute to our valley’s western roots and community spirit, the 60th Annual Conejo Valley Days takes center stage May 11-15 at Conejo Creek Park South (23 Freeway/Janss Rd. exit) in Thousand Oaks.
The five-day event features entertainment for all ages. This year will again showcase top-rated RCS carnival rides, midway games and world-class headliners performing live music. Also scheduled are motocross freestyle exhibitions, free arts and crafts, the Fourth Annual Outhouse Races, a Home Décor and Gardening Show and dozens of craft vendors and displays by the Chumash Indian Museum and other historical venues.

“Only men are doctors.” This statement, asserted by a young girl in 1985, sparked her mother, AAUW (American Association of University Women) member Sandy Hindy, to show her daughter otherwise and led to the founding of the Women’s History Project in 1986.
Celebrating its 30th year in 2016, the Women’s History Project celebrates the accomplishments of women through live presentations about their lives. Sandy started by writing scripts for her daughter’s school and adults presented them. One of the first scripts was a first-person narrative of Elizabeth Blackwell, a doctor.
