Small Treasures

“Mamaw’s Purses” is an outreach program formed in memory of a special woman who loved colorful handbags. Purses filled with personal care items and small gifts are provided to women in shelters, transitional living and other support programs. Sunland Vintage Winery is collecting items for Mamaw’s Purses, including medium to large new or gently used purses, sample/travel size personal care items (toothpaste, toothbrush, lip gloss, deodorant, tissues, soap, shampoo, etc.) and small gifts, such as a hair brush, sunglasses, socks and jewelry. Family Picnic w/Equestrian 
Events & Pie Auction

Join the community on Sunday May 1st at the 6th annual There’s No Place Like Hope, Family Picnic and Hoedown. Held in the beautiful Santa Rosa Valley at the Santa Rosa Valley Park south of Santa Rosa Road on Hill Canton Road from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., the event features a day of fun and fellowship while raising funds for destitute and homeless horses. Rosemary Allison, Estates Director for Coldwell Banker, is the presenting sponsor of this year’s picnic benefiting the Saffyre Sanctuary, Inc., with special mention to Tedi Tate and her Warhorse Alliance and Steeds of Light. The Alliance works with returning vets with PTSD, and the Steeds of Light with battered women. Open to the public with free admission, the event features activities and attractions that will delight, food trucks, live music, shave-and-haircuts, surprise musical performances, an old fashioned pie auction hosted by Rosemary Allison, magnificent horse performances, Annabelle the pink tractor-pulled hay wagon, dancing, singing and shopping, all with a loving dose of compassion and community. Visit Ariel “Under the Sea” this Summer

Disney’s “The Little Mermaid” movie based on the Hans Christian Anderson story comes to vibrant life in the new Broadway musical The Little Mermaid, swimming to Cabrillo Music Theatre this summer! Celebrating 20 Years of the Kingsmen Shakespeare Festival!

Save the date for a festival preview and benefit dinner Sunday, June 12, from 4-7 p.m. Guests will see a sneak peek of the rehearsal process with a preview of the upcoming productions of Henry V and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, as well as costume and set designs for the new season.

Presentations from the KSC artistic directors, a stage combat experience and a silent auction round out the event. Summer casual attire is suggested, along with a light jacket or wrap for after sundown.
