I would like to start by congratulating all the recent graduates in our community! Aren’t we all graduating from something every day of our lives? I think we all deserve some congratulations every so often for our daily accomplishments. We come into this life by ourselves, yet I like to think that we all walk together. We meet people along our separate journeys that help us to reach our next step. Whether it’s a teacher, mentor, parent or anyone who gives us direction, we should all be grateful for these people who are helping us along our journey.
It is important that we choose the right leaders, as they are the people who lead us in the direction we are destined to go. Are our lives already mapped out for us? Do we only follow the footsteps of those ahead, or can we create our own path? Are you a leader or a follower? If you can answer any of these questions, then you are already headed in the right direction. Never follow anyone else’s path, unless you are lost and need guidance. Make sure you get back onto your own path, once you feel comfortable enough to do so. If you continue on someone else’s path, you will be the one missing out on what was meant to be your own journey and life lessons.
Don’t give unsolicited advice, unless you’re asked, as it will always come back to bite you in the end. At the same time, you can always ask for advice, but my advice to you is that if you are true to yourself, everything will be fine. I have always said that it is important not to leave any life on the table, so just say yes to life and you will be headed in the right direction. If you reach a fork in the road and you don’t know which way to turn, make a decision in that moment, even if you know it could be wrong, and then you will know which way to go. If you freeze during these important decision-making moments in your life, then you will be unable to move forward to the next step in your journey. Your test will be your testimony.
Congratulations to all and keep moving forward!
