A Barnyard Bash Brings Neighbors Together 7

Neighbors gathered to meet and make new friends at the 4th Annual Rancho Santa Rosa POA Picnic. Char Virnig and Linda Kidd know the value of a friendly neighborhood and spearheaded the annual picnics held by the association to provide opportunities for neighbors to meet and greet.

Many helping hands, including members Barbara Wutkee, Patty Mayer, Linda Streckewald, Debra Sauerbaer, and Megan, Madison, Monica and Mark Fuller, joined to organize the picnics, each with a different theme.

This year’s “Barnyard Bash” included a visit to Tom and McKay Whiting’s backyard ranch, where caretaker Melissa Herron and friend Brenda Herron graciously introduced the many animals. Some 150 neighbors, including about 30 children, enjoyed meeting the tortoises, sheep, goats, steer, chickens, peafowl, alpacas and dogs.

Bruce Jochums’ Barbeque catered the event and the Buckles and Bows Square Dance Club provided entertainment.

POA members can contact Linda Kidd at Lindakidd4re@gmail.com to find out how to sign up for the private Rancho Santa Rosa POA website and receive notice of upcoming social events.
