When Westlake Body Contouring’s Dianne Lalena Sandberg, D.C., first learned about the amazing power of LED light therapy to essentially “melt” fat and dissolve inches, she knew she had to bring this new technology to the public.
“I was a chiropractor and had decided to retire and devote my time to my family,” says Dr. Dianne, “…and then I learned about the contour light therapy and decided I had to share this amazing technology with people.”
She opened Westlake Body Contouring two years ago, initially focusing on sharing the fat loss benefits of the light with her clients.
“The technology liquefies fat and opens fat cells, allowing fat to exit and shrink the cells,” she explains, noting most clients experience an average instant reduction of 3-5 inches per 25-minute session. And the results often continue for days, with many clients reporting additional fat loss and an overall reduction of inches from their waistlines, hips, arms and thighs.
Dr. Dianne says increasing numbers of men are now taking advantage of the light’s fat-zapping ability, as both men and women appreciate the jump start to fat loss they experience with each contour light session.
“The men benefit as much as the women,” says Dr. Dianne. “When guys see the women in their life getting great results, they want to explore what the light can do for them too!”
Beyond Fat Loss
In addition to the incredible fat loss results Dr. Dianne has observed her clients experience from the contour light, her patients are also reporting health benefits—from chronic pain and rheumatoid arthritis relief to faster wound healing and drastic improvements in skin conditions like acne, rosacea and wrinkles.
“It’s extremely exciting and gratifying to see the light easing the pain and improving the quality of life for so many people,” says Dr. Dianne, explaining further. “The light increases blood flow to all areas of the body. When blood flow is increased to the adrenals, it helps decrease cortisol levels, which helps patients relax and lose weight, promotes healing and reduces pain,” she says. “There’s no bruising, swelling, burning or pain, nor is anesthesia required—the only side effect is losing fat!”
The health benefits of light have been used for centuries and documented NASA research confirms its effect on healing.
“The use of light as a natural form of energy from nature actually activates the normal biochemistry of the cell so that the cell tends to take from it what it needs,” explains NASA’s Harry Whelan, M.D., whose research found light emitting diodes (LEDs) yielded a variety of benefits, including “faster healing of severe burns, difficult-to-heal wounds, muscle and tendon sprains, damaged nerves and eye injuries.”
During the noninvasive, pain-free treatments, patients relax for about 25 minutes, lying on a comfortable table with LED light pads wrapped around the specific areas being treated. The LED light is not radiation, UV or laser, and penetrates about 10 inches deep to stimulate healing in red and near infrared ranges, measuring approximately 635 nanometers.
Dr. Dianne says her patients with chronic joint injuries, back pain, rheumatoid arthritis and neuropathy report faster healing, stress relief, chronic pain relief and arthritis and rheumatoid arthritis relief, as well as tighter skin, reduced wrinkles and fat loss from the light therapy.
“A recent rheumatoid arthritis patient had less pain and was able to completely stop taking medications for RA after a few light treatments,” says Dr. Dianne, noting the patient reported continued improvement, including reduced swelling in the joints, less pain and more energy, with each session.
“The benefits are numerous,” adds Dr. Dianne, who is very excited to offer a new facial rejuvenation and anti-aging program to clients. “Those with rosacea, under-eye bags and lines, acne and other skin conditions will want to experience how the light can improve these conditions by stimulating the production of collagen and elastin and promoting healing.”
