The community showed up in full force to support the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk in Thousand Oaks. The citywide event raised more than $60,000 toward breast cancer research.

Lynne West Honored by Big Brothers Big Sisters

The Big Brothers Big Sisters of Ventura County's 30th Anniversary Gala at Las Posas Country Club featured a tribute to Lynne West, whose personal and professional legacy changed many lives in Ventura County. The event raised almost $150,000, including a generous $100,000 gift from the Moore Family Trust.

Ultimate Dining Celebrates 32 Years

Senior Concerns' annual Ultimate Dining fundraiser at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza featured delicious food and wine, talented entertainers, decadent raffle items and a night of fun for all attendees. Event proceeds benefit Senior Concerns' programs, including Meals On Wheels and adult daycare.

North Ranch Country Club had the incredible opportunity to host 10 kids from the SCGA Junior program and enjoy an afternoon of golf with our members. Each child was partnered up with a member and played nine holes on the Oaks course, which was followed by pizza and networking.

Fender Music Foundation Gives the Gift of Music

The Fender Music Foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports U.S. music education and therapy programs through grants of musical instruments and equipment. The "Give Music Life" Concert Fundraiser was held at Five Threads Brewing Company with food offered by Farm & Flame. A fun time was had by all.

Stepping Out for Senior Programs

Some 2,000 participants turned out for the 24th annual Ladin Subaru Love Run in Westlake Village to walk or run a 5K, 10K or one-mile course. The Love Run featured people of all ages coming together in support of the Senior Concerns Meals on Wheels program.

Guests enjoyed perfectly matched New Zealand wine and cuisine at Aroha Restaurant in Westlake Village. Chef Gwithyen Thomas served up Old Coach Road Chardonnay, Maimai Syrah, Forest Pinot Noir and Sweet Agnes Reisling paired with flown-in fresh house specialties like Cerena New Zealand Venison Rack with honey, blackberries and parsnips.

The girls collectively contributed 8,000+ service hours to 23 local philanthropies. The nonprofit organization of mothers and daughters in Grades 7-12 fosters community responsibility through philanthropy, leadership activities and cultural events.

Montecito Bank & Trust hosted its 14th annual Community Dividends Awards at Four Seasons The Biltmore in Santa Barbara to honor 203 local Santa Barbara and Ventura County nonprofits. Awards totaling $1 million were presented by Chairman Michael Towbes and President and CEO Janet A. Garufis.

Running for Love

The Ladin Subaru Love Run's 1,900 participants recently raised more than $80,000 for Senior Concerns' Meals On Wheels Program. All proceeds from the Love Run directly support the Meals On Wheels Program, which delivers two nutritious meals to home-bound seniors in need in our community.

For Reading” program teaches children to love books and reading, attracting some eight dogs and 20 readers per session.
